Sleeping up to 6 persons (plus an infant) in one master bedroom and one large family bedroom, Villa Mia offers every modern convenience to optimise your comfort and enjoyment in this "home from home".
Although traditional in design, its stone arches, lemony plastered walls and terracotta pantiled roof blending subtly into the surrounding environment, the villa offers every modern convenience, including English plumbing (so no bin as you may be used to in many Greek bathroooms!), air-conditioning and that most modern of essentials : unlimited wireless broadband.
The large open plan living area is furnished with contemporary white leather sofas of Italian design. The extendable dark wood dining table seats up to 10 in stylish elegance, whilst overhead the wooden ceiling soars to a height of over 5 metres.
Floors are tiled throughout. From the 7.5m lounge two sets of french windows lead out onto the arched covered dining terrace, the twin arches reflected in the azure blue pool which uniquely wraps itself around the house.
A further set of patio doors leads out to the cool rear of the house where a shady garden awaits. The provision of these doors allows a cooling breeze to circulate through the house on even the hottest summer days, or can be closed and shuttered with fine linen curtains to make a cosy evening en-famille at the cooler ends of the season.
Unlike many "holiday homes", this is not just a summer rental property. The villa has been built with year-round comfort in mind, comprising state-of-the-art Samsung remote-control air-conditioning (with warm air option) as well as full central heating and double glazing in all rooms.
Domestic hot water is provided by solar panels on the roof and there are also hidden panels providing heating for the swimming pool.
in winter evenings and the provision of an immersion heater ensures masses of piping hot water on the rare cloudy days when the solar isn't operating but it is not yet cold enough for the central heating.
In the lounge, which adjoins the open-plan dining area, there is a large modern fireplace for an open fire, and a host of entertainment facilities: 40" LCD wall mounted TV (with Google Chromecast facility to cast films and programmes from your phone or tablet - ideal for Netflix etc), satellite TV box, digital TV box, Wii games console, DVD player, hi-fi and large selection of DVDs (over 50 feature films plus TV series), CDs, books and games, as well as the wireless internet connection, provide entertainment if you fancy keeping out of the heat in the summer, or keeping warm in the winter.
There are even UK-style 3-pin mains sockets in the lounge with USB feeds for charging your phones or tablets and a portable Bluetooth speaker, so you can enjoy your music wherever and whenever you want. Additionally there is an Amazon Echo Dot smart speaker so you can stream music from services such as Spotify and can use the built-in Alexa voice control assistant to talk back to you!
Favorable longer term rates can be negotiated during the Winter season, particularly for those visitors not requiring the Maid service.
The contemporary styled kitchen features every appliance you could need for rustling up everything from a quick coffee to a full family meal : kettle, coffee maker, toaster, combi-microwave oven, ceramic hob, fan oven, extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, juicer, smoothie maker and even a digital egg timer.
Beyond the open-plan living room a hallway leads to the spacious sienna-tiled main bathroom with sunken corner bath, shower, WC and mosaic tiled sink area.
There is also a cupboard units for laundry and toiletries and a large illuminated mirror cabinet whilst a large chrome towel radiator keeps the towels aired in winter.
No shortage of facilities
Anyone for coffee?
There are ample storage cupboards, including a pull-out larder unit for your food, plus a host of pans, dishes, utensiils and cookware. In short, all the extras one often struggles for in a holiday property.
We have even included a whole shelf full of plastic and melamine crockery and drink ware to make for "safe" meals by the pool - and there is a window which doubles as serving hatch from the kitchen straight out onto the poolside.
Both the bedrooms are deliberately located to either side of the main bathroom and laundry area, meaning that the bedrooms do not share a common dividing wall, for added privacy.
Fed-up with squeezing round the edge of doorways and the end of beds in so many cramped properties we have stayed in in the past, we decided to provide the villa with 2 large bedrooms, with ample space for clothes storage in its spacious fitted wardrobes. French windows open fully against the walls, blurring the distinction between inside and outside, and yet enable the bedrooms to become a cosy retreat all year round, with full hard-wood shutters allowing you to sleep in after a night's Greek dancing at the local taverna!

Master Bedroom plus en-suite
The master bedroom features kingsize double bed with imported posture-pedic mattress with integral memory-foam topper. Floor to ceiling fitted wardrobes of beech and birch offer ample storage space to both bedrooms, with extra heaters, blankets, pillows and duvets enhancing winter comfort, whilst silent-operation fans augment the state-of-the art Samsung air conditioning units to each bedroom. This bedroom overlooks the length of the swimming pool - the reflection of which makes the ceiling sparkle with light when illuminated in the evenings. To the other side, double patio doors open out onto a paved stone terrace surrounded by palm trees which is perfect for sunbathing and overlooking the stunning views and for then stepping into the pool through an arch and down the shallow, non-slip tiled steps to cool off.
The master ensuite wetroom is finished in black and white tiles, with double sized shower area fitted with overhead "drench" shower (plus standard hand-held "wand"), toilet and wash hand basin as well as illuminated mirror, cupboard and towel rail.
A dressing table with mirror tiles and a hairdryer is provided as well as plentiful drawer and wardrobe space
The second bedroom, over 6 metres in length, offers a combination of sleeping arrangements to render the villa suitable for almost every family configuration and party size.
A double bed (with orthopaedic mattress) and pale wood single bunks (again equipped with superior mattress) and an extra child's trundle bed beneath, enables adult couples or up to 5 children to be accommodated comfortably. There is also a dressing table with mirror, a full-length mirror and bedside drawers with lights as well as a full-size wardrbobe with drawers and additional shelf space.
Double French doors lead from this bedroom to its own patio, with dedicated parasol, directly overlooking olive groves and the magnificent White Mountains.
Third Shower Room and Laundry room
A third shower room/WC at the living end of the house is reached from outside, offering shower and toilet facilities without going inside with wet or sandy feet. This third shower also offers the opportunity for everyone in the party to get ready to go out in the evening, or on rising in the morning, without the normal family queues or arguments! A fourth shower is adjacent to the pool.
A separate laundry area, conveniently situated near the bedrooms so you do not even have to carry clothes through the house, comprises an automatic washing machine, tumble drier (for winter lets), full ironing board and iron, and external drying facilities. All towels for use inside the house, and all bedding, is provided and renewed by our housekeeper twice a week. Embroidered luxury pool towels are available at a small weekly charge, payable locally.
